Abstract

Mutagen activity of the 137Cs isotope accumulated by fruit bodies of fungi according to the criterion of frequency of recessive lethal mutations in the X-chromosome of drosophila has been shown. The role of the ectomycorrhiza-forming fungi in radioactive cesium circulation in ecosystems and the prospect of their use as bioindicators of the environmental state are discussed.
