Ionizing Radiation Effects on Telomeres

Abstract

To date telomere length is an informative and important biomarker of the overall health, aging, effects of environmental and life-style factors and stress. Recently a number of studies have suggested a correlation between the telomere length and severity of radiation-induced effects. In this review this issue is explored.
