Abstract

Totals of 15 wild boars, 15 European roe deers and 3 elks were examined over winter 2009–2010 in Zlynkovsky and Novozybkovsky districts of Bryansk region Russia. 241Am, 239+240Pu, 154Eu, and 137Cs were recorded in the studied animals. 154Eu was registered only in wild boars from 0.075 to 0.320 Bq/kg r.m. 241Am was registered in all three ungulate species in the range from 0.011 to 0.611 Bq/kg raw mass. 239+240Pu was also registered in all species in the range from 0.008 to 1.15 Bq/kg raw mass. Significant differences in radionuclide accumulation were observed in different species of wild ungulates. The results obtained show that 241Am and 239+240Pu have joined the trophic networks, and this is one of the ways for americium and plutonium to enter the human organism, since hunting for ungulates is open in these territories.
