Abstract
Analyzed in the article are advantages and disadvantages of applying the dose transformation coefficients for assessing the doses of biota irradiation. The authors show characteristic features of the formation of irradiation dose on plants in the land biogeocenoses after chronic radioactive fallout from a combination of sources: a cloud of radioactive fallout, a soil surface, a root layer of the soil, internal and external parts of plants contaminated by the root and out-of-root pathways of radionuclide intake. On the basis of the literature data analysis, the authors have developed the basic assumptions and positions for the dosimetric model of irradiation of plants in natural, semi-natural and agro-biogeocenoses exposed to chronic radioactive fallouts.
