Abstract

The statistical approach to the assessment of radiation doses for population is developed. It takes into consideration the correlation of different radionuclide fallout in case of emergency situations at nuclear fuel cycle facilities. Computational procedure based on the covariance matrix is formulated for the purpose of calculating the multidimensional distribution function of partial radiation doses from contaminating radionuclides. Test calculations show that taking into account correlation between contamination components allows one to avoid substantial failure in statistical assessment of the radiation dose.
